first things first, this episode gets sorta heavy about 3/4 of the way through. ride it out cause, as our guest, jacob kaplan says “it’s not all nachos & craft beer”. also, this is episode 30, not 29. we’re pretty bad at counting.

we’ve been trying to get jacob on SAgC since the very beginning. he’s funny, a great story teller and he likes drinking. jacob is pretty much the perfect guest, someone you wanna have a conversation with. we cover a lot of ground, from beer pocket dancing, a burger called “the double coronary bypass”, his nacho blog to some heartbreaking personal loss. its heavy & funny & touching, all at the some time, sorta like life.

when we first met lee pancake he was behind a bar making delicious & beautiful cocktails. he is a classic gentleman barman. he’s professional, polite, smart, funny, knows about wine, beer & most importantly, he mixes one hell of a drink. he also seems to knows a little about almost any subject you can throw at him. on this episode of SAgC we get to know the man behind the bar. we talk drinks, music, superman & consider if odb would have made a decent president. he also does a blind tasting of a bottle of wine & nails it.

jimmy sherfey is serious about coffee. he writes about it, he travels all over the world to drink & learn about it & when we visited his cool audubon park apartment, he was brewing some & it smelled totally delicious. over the next hour & a half, between sips of coffee (we drank beer) we covered a lot of ground. from haley joel osment’s recent weight gain & joining the stud club as a kid, to going bald, chalupas & the coalition of immokalee workers boycott of wendy’s. yup, this one is all over the place but it was fun.

abraham couch is an old soul. he likes classic movies, otis redding & young, cool elvis (we prefer fat elvis). he has a certain swagger & he speaks with a confidence usually found in a much older man. this was our first time hanging out but, after an hour or so talking, we like him immensely. in this episode we cover a lot of ground. from his touring days with band marino & his current bass gig with johnny dee & the starlights, to his love of the star wars trilogy & a meeting with bucky lasek. abraham is a cool guy, spend an hour & get to know him.

first off, despite what we say at the beginning, this is episode 27 not 26. at some point we’ll catch up & everything will be correct. bear with us, we drink a lot & we’re still kinda new at this whole podcasting thing.

we were looking forward to this one. beside being a totally down to earth & likable dude, andrew asher makes booze for a living. we were lucky enough to have him bring a very nice bottle for this recording. we drank a little of his delicious bourbon & covered a very wide variety of topics. from our mutual love of vintage concert shirts & the new “brewstillery” he’s in the process of opening to a prep-school fistfight he may have totally won. in the end we decide we may wanna be like andrew when we grow up.
